Beach escapes for 2024

There’s nothing like dreaming of a beach escape, and with the first signs of spring (our early daffs are already dancing in the breeze). Are you looking for a sultry sun soaked summer evening (who isn’t!), or a brisk spring blast on the beach, fire pit vs sand pit… there is something for everyone, whatever the weather.

Camber, Winchelsea & Rye

The picturesque trio of Camber, Rye and Winchelsea have been drawing artists and musicians for years and are each a hotbed of tranquility and inspiration, come visit and explore all we have to offer.

Camber Sands

Camber Sands is a year round beach escape with three miles of sandy beach and dunes  Take to the water with The Kitesurf Centre. Pop into The Gallivant for its daily oyster happy hour and a cool, crisp glass of local sparkling wine or Camber Landing for a local tinnie or two with an upmarket deli section to grab a croissant and coffee (seasonal).

Winchelsea

Steeped in a rich history of smugglers and tales of its storied past overlooks the sea. Wend your way from the local Charles Palmer Vineyard, down towards Winchelsea Beach. A hidden gem of quiet shingle expanse gazing over Rye Bay, walk or cycle from the beach along the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve towards the cliffs at PETT LEVEL.

Rye

The historic mediaeval town of Rye has had a fresh wave of creativity breathed into its cobbled streets and is a culinary hub. Make a beeline for The FigThe UnionThe White House, Webbs Fish Cafe, to name but a few eateries. Trendy interiors, antiques and art galleries are aplenty, for the discerning visitor, McCully & CraneSoap & SalvationRaePuckhaber Antiques or immerse yourself in The Rye Emporium. For fun out at sea try Sea Safaris or Full Throttle Charters for a boat trip around the harbour and try some seal spotting.
